Tucked away on a farm in the Southern Drakensberg, there is a lovely self catering cabin called Glenlea Log Cabin. It offers you the privacy and peace you’ve been looking for. From your wooden deck you can look out over the beautiful Glenlea Dam to Hodgeson´s Peaks Mountains in the distance. This is the ideal retreat for the fly-fisherman and bird watcher. The cabin is perched about 20m from the water’s edge.
It is ideal as a family getaway with swings for the children and a marvellous wooden jetty which is perfect for swimming and sundowners! It´s also very safe for children- they can explore the surrounding farm area without fear of traffic and intruders! Braai facilities are available. Spring water comes free of charge.
Activities include mountain biking, bird watching, horse riding nearby, walking, watching the milking and visiting the calves and pigs.
The following wildlife has been spotted from the cabin: otters, reedbuck, genet, and waterfowl including large flocks of crested crane.
Trips up the SaniPass can be arranged with qualified tour operators.
Glenlea Log Cabin offers self-catering acommodation for 8 people.
